• Dymension, Celestia and Evmos Core Teams have partnered to launch the world’s first IBC-enabled EVM rollup on testnet.
• The new RollApp utilizes the EVMOS token as its gas token and updates its state to the Dymension Hub and posts data to Celestia’s “Mocha” testnet.
• Developers will be able to fork any EVM-based dApp and deploy it on the RollApp using Dymension’s technology.

Dymension Partners with Celestia and Evmos for IBC-Enabled EVM Rollup

Dymension, a blockchain startup building a network of easily deployable modular blockchains called RollApps, has announced its collaboration with Celestia and Evmos Core Teams to launch the world’s first-ever IBC-enabled EVM rollup on testnet. This deployment was made possible through close collaboration with the Evmos Core Development Team, as the RollApp uses Ethermint, an implementation of the Ethereum Virtual Machine that’s built on top of Dymension’s RollApp.

Features of New RollApp

The new EVM RollApp utilizes the EVMOS token as its gas token and updates its state to the Dymension Hub and posts data to Celestia’s “Mocha” testnet. It also features a Uniswap V2 fork and a bespoke frontend, as part of a proof-of-concept to demonstrate how anyone can deploy their own RollApp and host EVM dApps.

Benefits of IBC-Enabled Technologies

The inclusion of IBC enables developers from different blockchains networks to interact seamlessly with each other by exchanging assets in real time without having to trust any single entity or party for their transactions. This allows for faster transaction times, improved scalability, increased security, lower transaction costs, interoperability between different blockchains networks etc.

How Developers Can Use It?

Developers will be able to fork any EVM-based dApp and deploy it on the RollApp using Dymension’s technology. This helps them scale their decentralized applications while allowing them to reap all of benefits associated with IBC technologies such as faster transaction times, improved scalability etc.

Conclusion

Overall this is great news for developers who have been waiting for an easy way to leverage powerful blockchain technology for their projects without having worry about scalability issues or high fees associated with traditional solutions like Ethereum mainnet or sidechains such as Polkadot or Cosmos SDK based ones which are expensive when it comes down scaling up apps running on them due lack of more efficient solutions like offchain computation models (rollups).
